Tour de France Negs Armstrong Tribute
Jabbing at perhaps the sport’s best-loved hero, the premier bicycling event the Tour de France lowered its heavy Gallic hand today, negating the Lance Armstrong tribute TEAM USA had planned. Considering the wonders of P. R. Lance Armstrong has delivered to the sport of bicycling and competitive racing and the Tour de France, one can only wonder at their questionable promotional savvy. Armstrong wasn’t living strong this year, finishing 23rd.
Rondo Can’t Take the Heat
The Miami Heat, that is. Media reports say the Boston Celtics’ player Ramon Rondo is whining about the attention lavished on league favorites the Miami Heat. This year’s league games might seem a victory lap to some pundits, but Rondo is (properly) worried about beating the Los Angeles Lakers. Curiously, he notes the biggest opponents they (The Celtics) have is themselves, a strange comment from defending Eastern champs. Rondo is considered by peers as a champion at the tender b-ball age of 21, and one wonders why the Los Angeles Lakers don’t have him sweating the Nicholson seats…..
